With our role as IT Professionals, we live in a world that is ever changing and always bringing new developments and inventions. In this highly dynamic environment let alone, we should accustom our skill set as well as pick certain trends to fit technologies. Today, I will try to express some considerations to the crucial skills I have encountered which have undoubtedly been a catalyst in the development of my IT career.
Beginning with adaptability to the current conditions or work environment, critical thinking with colleagues and communications with clients, these should form the basis of success in this sector. Even though these skills are known to everyone but I am here sharing it using my own life-examples and discoveries about how they have made me master the forever changing technology world.

- Adaptability:
Developing this aptitude becomes a significant skill in the point of view of IT professionals because of the speed of innovation in terms of technologies. It is the talent of staying adaptable to the process of change and picking up any new language program updates, frameworks or methodology. However, changing implies that we have to open to some new technologies and methodologies that it might happen to be our first steps in leaving comfort zone.
It is all about being adaptive or the resilience of the project that endures in this when the demands changes and environments evolve. At every career crossing I have mastered the art of being adaptive by participating with confidence in the task of welcoming the change and harnessing new technology. To start, every new position I take helps me build my experience, and eventually increases my adaptability and my ability to succeed in the continuously changing IT panorama.

- Critical Thinking:
Without critical thinking, one may not be able to perform efficiently in the fields of IT. It’s the capacity to consider circumstances, see the big picture in despite of the small details, untangle the multi-faceted problems and come up with the solution. The IT domain utilizing critical thinking, which is a way to systematize the search for the causes of problems and gives an opportunity to analyze a set of solutions before making a decision. It implies the need for asking the appropriate questions, criticizing ideas, and improvising new optimal ways to deal with problems.
Along the way, I gained the unique capacity to analyze information critically by scrutinizing the evidence and acquired the knowledge through personal experience. The place to realize different challenges were involved in each project, that enabled me to sharpen my skills in problem-solving, and come up with smart solutions that brings business success.

- Communication Skills:
Whether they are acting as technical specialists or high-ranking officers in organizations, IT professionals must possess strong communication skills. It might appear like the communication between technical and non-technical people, the teamwork in different departments, or the support given to end-users isn’t easy. Regardless, good communication skills are at the heart of it. Ultimately, it boils down to the capability to say something well and explain complicated concepts in a manner that can be understood by all, those who are experts or mere footnote readers.
Effective communication which gives everyone an entry point into the conversation is the key to the development of creative, productive, and confident teams. Although communication skills have lead me to the toughest hurdle was the struggle with them being a non native English speaker. English being my 3rd language, I am however able to hold a certain level of proficiency, but I still find it very challenging to carry a presentation with experienced & top people, the challenge in being concise, detailed, and so on, these are among the communication techniques that I have found to be challenging.
Consequently, I have become a reader of many books on speaking social skills. After the several months, I can now tell that abilities to interact and to concentrate on improving this skill better are two more factors of success to concentrate on. Whenever I am part of presentations or leading team meetings, I see them as a chance to enhance my communication skills, taking into consideration the best way of connecting tech specifics with the straightforward explanations.

- Continuous Learning:

Lifelong learning accompanies professional development in the same measure it does for an institution’s competitiveness, and thus, it remains a highly critical aspect. It implies keeping the pace with the dynamic techno world and as a tool for better performance improvement and not just to eliminate the lag in terms. One can also learn by acquiring degrees and certifications which is undeniably important but not the only option.
The ultimate loading happens when one starts to implement these learned things in our lives. If is about linking the fibre between practical and theory, thus ensuring that the skills obtained are not only theory-based but very practical and applicable. At times there present situations where people might have more than one certificate in a domain, while there remains a dramatic jump from their formal education to practicing what is learnt.
Reflecting my career pathways, I look forward to the potentiality that encompasses the idea that learning does not finish once you graduate from school, college, or university. This state of mind has seen me avoid occasional situations that do not concur with my hunger to expand my knowledge and at the same time get involved with those that enable me to put to practice, develop and sharpen my skills. Each new educational experience keeps opening my eyes to the unexplored territories of my mental potentials, thus endowing me with the skills and the decision-making capacity to not only deal, but to flourish, in an environment where the norms are constantly shifting.
These skills are of major significance – adaptability to changes, critical thinking capability, communication basics and the hunger for learning. Therefore, if we focus on this revolutionary approach, then we would have the ability to cope with the fresh development in the world of information technology. Beyond the mere improvement of our effectiveness at work, the winning abilities help us be independent and adaptable in very unstable conditions and situations. With time, the style and the manner in which people consume music will transform, better technologies will emerge, and we will embrace the opportunities that come our way.
